Brief
A choir’s website has two audiences: the people coming to listen and the singers preparing to perform. ENKA Mannenkoor Ede needed a website that served both, introducing the choir and its concerts while giving members a practical place to find documents and rehearsal material.
The opportunity was to go beyond an online noticeboard: make the choir easier to discover, and make practising between rehearsals a more useful part of the website.
Solution
We brought the public website and protected members’ area together in a responsive WordPress build. Visitors can explore the choir, find upcoming concerts and discover how to join. Members have their own space for the resources they need.
The distinctive addition is a custom-built rehearsal player. Singers can focus on their voice part, adjust the tempo, mute other parts and repeat a difficult passage. Rather than simply providing files to download, we created a tool for working through the music at their own pace.
Outcome
The website now supports more than the choir’s public presence. Alongside the concert information and introduction to ENKA, it provides a practical resource for the preparation that happens at home.
For visitors, it is a way into the life of the choir. For members, it is somewhere to return to, with rehearsal material and tools built around learning their parts. One website, connecting the performance people hear with the practice behind it.
